Bay Area Credit Union and its employee outreach committee, Beyond Bay Area, raised over $1700.00 for the Jerusalem Township Food Pantry. Money raised included a portion of Bay Area Credit Union’s annual holiday Skip-A-Pay loan fee, along with employees paying bi-monthly to wear jeans and a favorite top as work attire.
Each quarter Beyond Bay Area committee members choose their charitable interest through employee suggestion. It was decided that they were going to tackle hunger within the community. Cindy Krieger, a Beyond Bay Area committee chairperson, said,” We understand that some families here in Oregon are struggling and are going without meals. We felt like we had to do our part.” Beyond Bay Area, whose mission is donating, volunteering, and giving back to the community, is an employee outreach group established in 1997.
